Hello everyone,

This week:

  • Volunteers required for the Friendship Club.  The Friendship Club is new at Anderson, organized by Ms. Hazon who is very excited to get it up and running.  Each month, the participating students will do an interesting craft from a different culture.    We are expecting approximately 50 students to participate and will require 5 parents per session.  You are welcome to participate in one or more sessions.  Here are the dates:
  • Wed. Dec.9 12 noon - 1:00pm
  • Tue. Jan.12 12 noon - 1:00pm
  • Tue. Feb.9  12 noon - 1:00pm
  • Tue. Mar.9  12 noon - 1:00pm
  • Tue. Apr.13 12 noon - 1:00pm
One of our parents, Lynn Ma, (also our RDPA Representative :)) is looking for more volunteers to help with the Club.  Please expect a call from Lynn to see if you are interested or contact Lynn at lynnma168@yahoo.com.

  • With the help of Shauna Barber, I’m going to start a campaign to sell our inventory of Keep-a-Coins and water bottles.  The cost for the coins is $3 for a set which includes a loonie token and a quarter-size token.  For starters, they’ll be available to purchase at our French Book Fair which starts this Monday, November 30.
  • Yes, the French Book Fair starts Monday November 30 and runs until December 11!   At this moment, we don’t have volunteers that can manage the book fair through the lunch hour.  If you are available for one or more days, please contact Janice Paterson janicedebruin@live.ca or come to the fair before school starts in the morning for instructions.  Books will be set up in the hallway on the way to the gym.
  • Have you turned in your ticket notice for Breakfast with Santa?  December 11, 8am to 8:45am.  Caroline is excited to determine how many are coming and start to get rolling with organizing the breakfast.  Please contact her if you have any question lolachanell@hotmail.com

  • Food Day, pizza, is coming up this Thursday, December 3.  Please remember to send along money with your child if you would like him/her to purchase pizza.
  • A notice regarding the Family Skating Party, December 15, 5:30pm to 7pm at Minoru Arena will be coming home on Monday, November 30.  Tickets will be sold prior to the event, $3 per skater.  Please watch for the notice.
  • SPRING FUNDRAISER MAY 14, 6-9PM.  Please mark your calendars.  Angela Chung is working diligently at the early stages of getting the Spring Fundraiser up and running.  She is going to need lots and lots of help and support as we get closer to the date so please set aside some time to help in some way for the event.  Contact angela.chung@live.com to let her know your availability and what you would like to do.  Also, Angela is actively soliciting donations for our raffle.  We would like to make this our biggest and best and most fun fundraiser ever!
  • Next PAC meeting, December 7 in the staff room, 7pm.
Please contact me or Janice Paterson janicedebruin@live.ca any time with questions or concerns.

That’s all for this week.

Regards,
Michelle
